“In the US, Flatiron School has set the benchmark for programming education,” said our CEO Adam Enbar about Flatiron School’s success since 2012. “With a new Flatiron School location in London, we’ll be able to give more people access to attain the skills they need to create their life’s work.”

Enbar was of course talking about our new London campus — our first outside the United States established in service our mission to broaden educational accessibility worldwide.

We’re excited to announce that, beginning in April 2018, WeWork’s soon-to-be-opened Finsbury Pavement building will host our new London campus! It’ll be the home of our full-time flagship Software Engineering Immersive and new part-time Intro to Front End Web Development courses for aspiring developers in the UK.

The two courses will be featured as part of the campus’ launch, but more courses are planned to follow.

Increasing diversity in tech has always been a priority for Flatiron School, and in our first year in the UK, we’re committed to awarding £1 million in scholarships to underrepresented groups in tech — including women and people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Flatiron School has also partnered with AllBright, codebar, and Women Who Code, to support this mission.

We, along with Allbright, are also holding a launch event on April 19 to inspire and inform London’s next generation of women in tech.

“With the acquisition of Flatiron School and the launch of our UK campus, WeWork has found a partner who shares our vision of revolutionising the way things are done – with work and with education – to help people to do what they love,” said Eugen Miropolski, WeWork’s Managing Director for Europe, Israel and the Pacific. Our American campuses have seen a 97% placement rate overall for job-seeking graduates, and we have every reason to expect we’ll replicate that success in London.

London is Flatiron School’s fourth physical campus — Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Washington, D.C. are its first three —  and first outside the United States. As Flatiron School continues to grow, look out for more locations both in the US, and beyond.
