A few months back, Flatiron School shared that we were joining the WeWork family – a move that would allow us to grow our offerings and bring our transformative coding education to more students around the world. Today, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be opening our second campus – and our first outside of New York – in Washington, D.C. in March 2018, operating out of WeWork White House.
Washington, D.C. is one of the fastest growing hubs for tech innovation in recent years. “It’s the perfect fit as we continue to expand our on-campus offerings,” says Flatiron School co-founder and CEO Adam Enbar. “Flatiron School is excited to see where our growth takes us as we continue to empower students with the skills they need to build fulfilling careers.”
To help D.C.’s aspiring programmers make their mark on the local tech scene, we’re excited to offer the same flagship Software Engineering Immersive we’ve honed over five years in New York – bringing together a proven, market-aligned curriculum, driven students, and passionate, experienced instructors to achieve incredible outcomes.
According to Flatiron School instructor Niky Morgan, who will be moving to D.C. to lead the inaugural cohort, “A Flatiron education has the ability to change the direction of people’s lives. First as a student, then as an instructor myself, I’ve witnessed my peers in code find passion and job satisfaction that they hadn’t experienced before. So many of them attribute the Flatiron community as one of the highlights of their education. I’m excited to extend that community to Washington, D.C. and help more future coders take their first steps toward a new career.”

And there’s a lot to look forward to in the new campus beyond the Software Engineering Immersive. Expect community events and mixers, coding workshops, and new courses, including our brand new part-time Intro to Front-End Web Development program. This new 10-week nights-and-weekends program teaches the fundamentals of front-end web development – including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript – giving you the skills needed to start your journey as a front-end web developer.
We’re thrilled to collaborate with WeWork on this new campus to help more people become students for life. “Learning and education are lifelong processes critical to doing what you love,” says Nicole Mozeliak, WeWork’s General Manager, Mid-Atlantic. “That’s why we are so proud to support Flatiron School’s leading community-first approach to programming education as Flatiron opens its first location in D.C. this spring. Flatiron’s expansion into D.C. will give more people the opportunity to access the skills they need to transform their careers and achieve their dreams.”
