After having just launched our new campus in London, we at Flatiron School are keeping the momentum moving quickly. On July 16, our entirely new Facebook Community Boost Scholarship will begin, where students will take part in our flagship Software Engineering Immersive — for free.
In partnership with Facebook and the Houston Area Urban League, 25 aspiring Houston-based programmers will be enrolled — for free — in our course and given the opportunity to jumpstart their careers as part of Houston’s growing tech industry.
Applications are being accepted starting today as part of Facebook’s broader Community Boost program, which is taking this weekend to host free workshops and business training throughout Houston.

The class will take place in WeWork’s downtown Houston location at 708 Main Street. It will be full time over 15 weeks.
Upon commencement, students will participate in our Immersive, where they learn programming fundamentals, web frameworks, JavaScript, front-end frameworks, UX, and data structures. By the end of the course, each student will have a fully fleshed out coding portfolio on Github. They’ll also be supported by our unparalleled career support team to assure they have the resources necessary to land a job after graduation.
Facebook’s Community Boost program has already been in St. Louis, and will span across the country after Houston this weekend.

This is just another step in Flatiron School and its partners’ visions to make education accessible and valuable for all.
