At Flatiron School, a core mission of ours is to create a more inclusive, representative tech industry — And the best way to do that is by partnering with companies who share those values.

That’s why we’re extremely excited to partner with Excella, an Agile technology firm founded in 2002, to launch the Excella Technology Scholarship – a full scholarship to our in-person Software Engineering Immersive at our Washington D.C. campus.

“Imagine a world where everyone believes they have access to a career in technology,” says Steve Cooper, Partner and Co-Founder of Excella. “We believe that the tech community must be more inclusive, and we are thrilled to partner with Flatiron to create the Excella Technology Scholarship program. We can’t wait to see the impact our scholars will make!”

The scholarship will cover the full tuition cost of $15,000 and focuses on women and underrepresented minorities. When Excella saw the tremendous tech talent in D.C., they (wisely) reached out to Flatiron School about a scholarship opportunity, which we were more than happy to help create.

The student selected for this scholarship will attend our flagship Software Engineering Immersive course. In this bootcamp, students will train to become software engineers using real developer tools over the course of 15 weeks. By the end of the course, students have the hard and soft skills to start their career as software engineers. Applications are now open through Sep. 15, 2018.

Flatiron School has launched multiple scholarships and initiatives to promote gender parity and diversity in tech. To date, we have offered millions of dollars in scholarships that have helped thousands of students start their careers with code.

In our latest Jobs Report, 97% of eligible students who graduated from our Software Engineering Immersive in NYC accepted job offers within six months.

Flatiron School will host additional events focusing on building a diverse and inclusive tech community in DC. We look forward to reviewing your applications and hope to see you at one of these events!
